The Role

We are looking for a high-performing, results-driven Wholesale/Retail Sales Manager to grow Tala’s wholesale and retail business in the USA.

This role is responsible for managing and expanding national retail accounts (e.g. lighting and lifestyle retailers), identifying and securing new wholesale opportunities with electrical distributors and lighting showroom groups, and opening up additional large-scale retail partnerships.

You will define the commercial approach and execute it end-to-end prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing business.

Tala has an established US entity and a fulfilment centre in Atlanta with stock ready to ship. You will own key customer relationships, build a national pipeline, and drive revenue growth across the US wholesale and retail landscape.

We want doers; someone who can think strategically but is equally comfortable getting out and knocking on doors. You should be comfortable managing complex buying organisations, negotiating large-volume deals, and building long-term account relationships.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow Tala’s wholesale and retail sales across the USA.
  • Manage and grow national retail accounts while identifying and securing new large-scale retail partners.
  • Identify, pursue, and close wholesale opportunities with electrical distributors, lighting showroom groups, and buying groups.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key wholesale and retail partners, driving repeat business and account expansion.
  • Own the sales process end-to-end, from prospecting through to negotiation and close.
  • Own the CRM: log activity, manage pipelines, forecast sales, and use data to improve performance.
  • Work closely with marketing, product, operations, and customer service teams to support account growth and ensure excellent service.
  • Represent Tala at industry events, trade shows, and key customer meetings to generate new business.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven B2B sales experience in lighting, furniture, interiors, or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated success managing national retail accounts and/or wholesale distribution networks.
  • Numerically driven — you understand targets, margins, and how to grow accounts profitably.
  • No-excuse mentality — you make the calls, chase the meetings, and close the deals.
  • Strategic mindset with a strong bias toward execution.
  • Strong communicator and negotiator — you build trust and win business.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated — you manage your time and pipeline effectively.
  • Disciplined CRM user — you value clean data and consistent tracking.
