Tala's technical LED light bulbs are engineered for precision and performance. Spanning GU10 spotlights, G9 capsule bulbs, and light engine sources with Dim to Warm technology, these are the light sources behind Tala's architectural Core and directional light fixtures.
These three fittings solve different jobs, so check your existing bulb before you buy. G9 is a small push-fit capsule bulb with two pins close together, commonly used in compact ceiling fixtures, wall lights, and some table lamps. GU10 is a twist-and-lock bulb with two pins and a wider base, almost always found in directional spotlights and recessed downlights such as bathroom and kitchen ceiling spots. Light Engine is a technical light source designed to sit inside a decorative diffuser or shade rather than be seen directly, so if your fixture has an integrated glass or fabric diffuser rather than a visible bulb, a Light Engine is likely what you need.
Tala's G9 bulb runs at 4W, the GU10 at 7W, and our Light Engines range from 10W to 20W depending on the fixture they're powering. All are LED, so wattage is far lower than old halogen or incandescent equivalents for the same brightness, check each product page for the incandescent equivalent to match the light output you're used to.
Yes. The G9 offers Tala's signature smooth dimming at a fixed colour temperature. The GU10 is dimmable across all its colour temperature options, and its 2000K to 3000K Dim to Warm variant also shifts colour as you dim. All Light Engine bulbs use Dim to Warm technology as standard, so they dim smoothly with no flicker and warm in tone as you lower the brightness.
The G9 bulb is a fixed 2700K soft white. The GU10 gives you a choice of three: 2200K for a warm, amber tone, 2700K for a slightly whiter soft white, or 2000K to 3000K Dim to Warm, which shifts from bright white at full brightness to a warm amber glow when dimmed low. Our Light Engine bulbs all use Dim to Warm technology across that same 2000K to 3000K range, giving you one technical light source that adapts from daytime brightness to cosy evening light.
Yes. Our LED bulbs run for up to 30,000 hours, roughly 27 years of typical evening use, and are rated at CRI 95, meaning colors in your home render close to true daylight rather than the flat, yellow-tinged light of cheaper LEDs. Bulbs in our Sphere, Voronoi, and Basalt ranges are hand-finished in mouth-blown borosilicate glass, a stronger, more heat-resistant material than standard glass. Tala is also a certified B Corporation, meaning our environmental and social impact is independently verified, not just self-reported.
Yes. If this isn't quite the right fit, take a look at our E12 bulbs, E26 bulbs, or our Dim to Warm range, which shifts color temperature as you dim.
