This project involved the remodelling and extension of a house in the St John’s Wood Conservation Area; the former home of a renowned artist. The clients wanted a contemporary space whilst retaining characteristics of the original property, formerly part of a chapel.

Gabriel Wasilko, together with his life and business partner Audrey Boisvert had the vision of a small boutique hotel inspired by the diverse moods of the 4 seasons in Quebec and how it connects to people on a personal level.

Potence was first designed in the late 1940s by revered French designer, Jean Prouvé. Considered one of his great modernist masterpieces, Potence is a powder-coated pivoting bar made of steel, supported by steel wire with a light bulb affixed to the end.

Using form, material, and texture to create minimalistic yet highly efficient ‘healthy’ homes, Koto designs homes and cabins strong in the belief that beautiful buildings can be accessible to everyone and can correspond with their natural environment.
