Squirrel Cages illuminate a cosy Portuguese restaurant in central London. 

Nestled in a railway arch near London Bridge lies Bar Douro, a restaurant that serves authentic Portuguese cuisine in an interior inspired by Iberian culture. Carefully positioned above the marble counter tops are two rows of Squirrel Cages, used to create an intimate canopy to socialise and dine under.

The linear formation of the pendants emphasise the double-height ceiling and architectural lines of the space, connecting the varnished hardwood floorboards to the strong silhouettes of the bar stools above. The warm light emitted accentuates the deep-blue hue of the traditional ‘azulejos’ tiles, commonly found adorning treasured buildings throughout the Douro Valley region.
