The Muse Solid Brass Bags A Dgm Award
The Muse Solid Brass, our special edition of our popular portable lamp, was awarded a Design Guild Mark award last week at the Bisley Showroom during Clerkenwell Design Week...
The Muse Solid Brass has won a Design Guild Mark award.
The Design Guild Mark was established in 2008 and is intended to raise the profile of British industrial design and recognise excellence in this field.
In order to win, the design practice must be British, and we pride ourselves on our British design roots. The product criteria was slightly more detailed, requiring us to demonstrate excellence in design, materials, manufacture and function, and to show The Muse in Solid Brass presents sustainable thinking and practices, solves a problem and could demonstrate longevity.
Our Senior Designer, Daniel Carpenter, made the original presentation to a panel of four judges prolific in the field of design, including: Simon Terry, founder of Anglepoise®, John Tree from Jasper Morrison, Sebastian Wrong from Established & Sons and Simon Alderson from Twenetytwentyone. Zoe Stark, our other in-house Designer at Tala, collected the award, presented by Deyan Sudjic OBE, former director of The Design Museum.
We greatly enjoyed this process and it was gratifying to be given a platform to present a product with which we have so much pride. Being recognised with an award for British design excellence, was the cherry on the cake.
